Hugh Hewitt is Right

Hugh Hewitt is wondering if the bloggers have gone soft, and trying to find the good in the CBS report for fear that we will be found to be abusive of our new power.
The zeal with which the bloggers took out after the original forgeries is partially missing from today's collective response to the Whitewash Report. Even as the fine print is examined, many are trying to find a few kind words for the Panel's effort. Why? Jim hinted that there is a concern that the blogosphere not injure its new-found reputation with over-zealousness. Hmmm. That doesn't sound good to me. In fact, that sounds like Woodward and Bernstein declaring the day after Halderman and Erlichman were fired that all was well in the Nixon White House.
He says there are the Mapes emails and the Rather emails. Did they email each other? Why didn't the commission give us all the emails instead of a sample? What was the Kerry connection and what lead to The Fortunate Son episode to be coordinated with CBS 60 Minutes II report?

I wrote this morning:

"While the panel said it was not prepared to brand the Killian documents as an outright forgery, it raised serious questions about their authenticity and the way CBS News handled them." (From CBS News itself)

Even with this devastating report in hand CBS STILL can't state the documents are forgeries!

Where is the retraction? Where is the acknowledgement that CBS is biased and they will change? Hugh Hewitt is right! We can't relax now, because CBS and the MSM are the problem. They are why people are deserting them for the new media.
